They will also be for sale – with prices starting at £75-£95 each (they are originals – unlike these, which I nevertheless also like a lot).
The posters showcase the work of the "Golden Team", the nickname given to a group of Cuban graphic designers working in the aftermath of the 1959 revolution to create a look that would represent a new Cuba. Under Castro, the look of both national and international cinema marketing was to be a reaction against the pre-revolution aesthetic of Hollywood reverence.
Above is just a small sample of what will be on show and on sale at Triangle. The posters will be available to ogle (and buy) tomorrow, Wednesday 13 November, from 4pm until 9pm at the shop (details below).
Triangle opened on Chatsworth Road this summer and it'd be worth popping along for a nose beyond Cuba, as it sells some very good things. Like these (some are secondhand - so may be long gone, but you get the gist. This shop has good taste...).
Colourful old wooden letters, £2.50 each
Brass sunbathing lady ashtray, £26
"Massive" 1970s brass dice (damn I love these).
Louella glass butter dish, £15
